Southport Man Arrested On Multiple Charges After Fleeing Officers
The Panama City Bach Police Department announces the arrest of Charlie D.l Wood, 35 years of age, of Southport, Florida
On Thursday, July 19, 2012, at approximately 1132 hours, Officers located a stolen vehicle in the parking lot of Emerald Bay Apartments, located at 644 Caladium circle. When Officers attempted to contact Wood, he fled on foot.
Officers pursued Wood to the 6th floor parking deck of the Wyndham Beach Resort, where he was apprehended. Officers located multiple items inside the stolen truck that linked Wood to several crimes he committed within the city limits of Panama City Beach. Wood was charged with grand theft of a vehicle, fraudulent use of a credit card, resisting an officer without violence, possession of listed chemicals used to produce methamphetimen, and multiple burglaries.
An investigation is ongoing.
