The Bay County Sheriff’s Office Street and Neighborhood Tactical Action unit (SANTA) responded to a report of multiple shots fired on 16th Court in Cedar Grove last evening.
When the SANTA unit responded to E. 16th Court, they found neighbors standing in the street. Neighbors identified the shots having been fired by someone at 2318 E. 16th Court.
Members of the SANTA unit made contact with Zachary Pascarella, age 19, who was standing outside the residence at 2318 E. 16th Street. When asked if he knew anything about the gunshots, Pascarella stated he heard them himself and was frightened. Deputies found five casings in the yard near Pascarella. When they asked him about the casings, Pascarella bolted for the front door of the home.
Deputies tackled Pascarella just inside his home. Once he was secured, they saw ammunition and what appeared to be synthetic marijuana on a table.
A search warrant was obtained for the residence. SANTA unit members found two firearms and what is believed to be synthetic marijuana. The synthetic marijuana has been sent to a lab for testing.
Subsequent investigation indicates that Pascarella and his girlfriend got into an argument earlier in the evening and as she was leaving in a car, he fired multiple rounds into the air.
Pascarella was arrested and charged with Resisting an Officer without Violence.
