The Bay County Sheriff’s Office released images today of a suspect in a case involving the attempted use of counterfeit currency at a business in Southport, Florida.
On Saturday, April 9, 2016 at approximately 9:15 PM, the suspect entered a discount store in Southport, Florida and attempted to purchase a pre-paid phone card with a $100.00 bill. The clerk immediately identified the bill as counterfeit and refused to finalize the transaction. She kept the bill, informed the customer the bill was a fake, and told him that store employees had already contacted law enforcement. The suspect left the area before deputies arrived.
The suspect is described as a black male, in his late teens or early 20’s, with a slim build, medium height and medium complexion. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a white polo-style shirt, faded blue jeans, a gold watch, black and white athletic shoes and a light blue Air Jordan baseball cap.
