Plane Crashes At Sandy Creek Airstrip
The Bay County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Sandy Creek airstrip this morning at about 9:45 a.m. after a 911 phone call reported a plane had crashed.
Deputies arrived to find a 1948 Cessna plane in a pond near the airstrip and were told that the pilot had been taken by onlookers to a local hospital for medical attention.
The pilot has been identified as Jeffrey Meinel, DOB 6/21/72. The crash will be investigated by the FAA.
