Dr. Michael Reed can now practice his craft again in the State of Florida. His license had been re-instated.
On Friday The Florida Board of Medicine reviewed the recommendations by the Credentials Committee, which had met on Thursday and asked that Dr. Reed’s license to be reinstated under the following terms:
He must comply with the professional resource network contract PRN, which is an impaired practitioners program.
He must undergo an evaluation to demonstrate his ability to practice medicine in a safe and competent manner.
Additionally, the Board can impose additional conditions which include probation.
Dr. Reed was a well known and popular surgeon who was convicted in 2009 and sentenced to 5 years in prison on federal conspiracy charges. He was released in early January following the completion of his sentence.
