The Bay County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the fraudulent use of a counterfeit credit card to make purchases in Panama City.
On Thursday, October 29, 2015, the owner of a local business discovered that someone had used the company’s credit card information to conduct a $214.23 transaction on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at a grocery store in Panama City without authorization or permission. Because the business owner still had the credit card in his possession, it is believed that the suspects encoded a card with the company’s credit card information and used the counterfeit card to conduct the fraudulent transactions.
The suspect was captured on security video making the transactions. She is described as a white female in her late 20’s or early 30’s, medium height and build with medium-length brown hair and medium complexion. She was wearing a light blue, short-sleeve tee shirt, blue jeans, dark shoes and a pair of sunglasses.
Anyone with information on this suspect is asked to call the Bay County Sheriff’s Office at 747-4700 or Crime Stoppers at 785-TIPS.
