The Bay County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the fraudulent use of credit card information. On Tuesday, September 6, 2016, a local man discovered that someone had used his debit card information to conduct some fraudulent transactions at different businesses throughout Northwest Florida including Panama City, Florida without his knowledge or permission. Because the man still had his card in his possession, it is believed that the suspect encoded a card with his card information and used the counterfeit card to conduct the fraudulent transactions. The suspect is described as being a white or Hispanic female who appears to be in her 20’s with slim build, medium height and long brown hair. Because the transactions were conducted on different days, the female was wearing different clothing but it was determined that she was traveling in a white, four-door car. Further investigation revealed that the same female is a suspect in similar cases being investigated by other local law enforcement agencies.
