Bay County Sheriff Frank McKeithen held a press conference today to release additional information on the arrest of Egypt Moneeck Robinson, age 27, for the homicide of her three year old son.
On December 29, 2015, after Robinson’s friend alerted the Callaway Fire Department that he was concerned about the well-being of her child, the BCSO was contacted and deputies responded to the home on Benton Drive. Robinson and her friend were in the front yard and seemed distraught. Robinson stated to deputies “I killed my baby and put him inside of the suitcase”. Robinson was placed into custody and deputies found the body of her son, Aries Juan Acevedo, age 3, in a suitcase floating in a body of water behind the home.
BCSO Criminal Investigations and Crime Scene responded to the home and worked through the night to process the scene and take statements.
Investigators have learned that Robinson came to Bay County about two years ago from Massachusetts and has worked as a stripper at local strip clubs. Robinson’s friend, who lived with her on Benton Drive, stated to investigators that on Saturday, Robinson locked herself in her room with the child and he could hear the child crying. He asked her if everything was all right and she said yes and he left. When he returned he found her covered in blood from cuts that appeared to be self-inflicted. The friend bandaged the wounds and asked about the child.
Robinson told him her child was with friends. The friend became suspicious and finally, on Tuesday, December 29, contacted authorities about his concerns for the child.
Egypt Moneek Robinson was taken to a local hospital and given medical treatment for self-inflicted wounds. She remained over night. It is expected she will be taken to the Bay County Jail today and booked. She has been charged with an Open Count of Murder.
The autopsy was performed today by the Medical Examiner and cause of death appears to be a stab wound.
