Attemted Suicide by Sexual Battery Suspect

A suspect in a sexual battery case attempted to kill himself early this evening when Bay County Sheriff’s Office deputies executed a traffic stop on his vehicle.  Brandon R. Brousseau-Dwenger  DOB   8/10/1986, of  326 James St. Apt D is suspected of holding his female room mate against her will since yesterday, November 27, 2009,  and raping her.

The victim stated to BCSO investigators she managed to flee the residence earlier today when Brousseau-Dwenger passed out. She fled to a neighbors home and called 911. The victim was giving her statement on the incident which allegedly occurred on James St. in Callaway, when the suspect was observed leaving the residence. He was followed by deputies.  When the suspect pulled into the Texaco at the corner of Star Av and Hwy 22, deputies attempted a traffic stop. The suspect produced a handgun, shooting himself in the head. The suspect was the only one to fire a weapon. The incident occurred about 7p.m. The suspect was transported to Bay Medical Center for treatment, where he remains.
