The Bay County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence at 9428 Highway 231 Saturday, May 14, at 7:50 pm in reference to a stabbing. Deputies arrived to find two stabbing victims and the suspect having fled the scene.
The victims stated that Joshua Belosic, age 21, had become angry when he was not invited to go canoeing with the first victim and Belosic’s mother. When the first victim attempted to calm Belosic, the two men got into a physical altercation. Belosic allegedly pulled out a pocket knife and cut the first victim across the abdomen. Another man, watching the fight, tried to intervene when Belosic allegedly stabbed him in the left upper arm.
At this point Belosic’s mother tried to stop the fighting. She and Belosic fell to the ground, and, according to her, he placed the knife against her throat, realized it was his mother, and fled.
Belosic is described as a white male, blonde hair and blue eyes, 5’9″ and 140 pounds. Anyone with information on the location of Joshua Belosic is asked to contact the Bay County Sheriff’s Office at 747-4700 or Crime Stoppers at 785-TIPS.
