The Panama City Police Department announces the arrest of Brittany R. Akins, 28 years of age, Stephen R. Coppock, 30 years of age, Robert J. Parker, 30 years of age, and Kimberly A. McCullough, 30 years of age.

All four listed Panama City address as their residence. All four were charged with, Trafficking Methamphetamine (Meth), Manufacture Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Listed Chemicals, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Akins was additionally charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. Parker had an unrelated outstanding warrant for his arrest out of Bay County.

All four were arrested and charged following an investigation of an active meth lab that was discovered in a hotel room at the Scottish Inn, located at 4907 W. Highway 98, in Panama City. Panama City Police officers and investigators with the Special Operations Unit received information of the possible activity and responded to the scene at approximately 11:00 p.m. on July 11, 2012.

When officers and investigators made contact with the persons in the room, assorted drug paraphernalia was observed along with a cloud of fumes consistent with an active meth lab. Four subjects were detained and removed from the room for their safety. Investigators who are specially trained and equipped to investigate and dismantle meth labs entered the room and did discover an active “Shake and Bake” style meth lab in the bathroom of the hotel room.

A search warrant was obtained and served for the room, Panama City Fire Department was posted on scene for safety, as the meth lab was rendered safe. During he search listed chemicals and paraphernalia used to manufacture meth were located along with assorted pills and trafficking amounts of meth oil. Following the search, collection of evidence, and containment of the chemical and assorted waste, all subjects were booked into the Bay County Jail for the charges. The chemicals and assorted waste were collected and deposited into approved storage containers for proper disposal.
