2 Arrested In Armed Robbery

PistolThe Bay County Sheriff’s Office responded to an Armed Robbery at the Express Lane at 7624 Front Beach Road shortly after 1:00 this morning.

The clerk at the store stated a white male entered the store, brandished a firearm, and demanded money. The suspect was wearing a black hoodie with a red design on the front. The suspect also had on sunglasses. The clerk gave the suspect money as the suspect told him “do not touch the panic alarm”. The suspect took the money and ran out of the store.

Approximately one hour before the armed robbery at the Front Beach Road Express Lane, a similar incident was reported inside Panama City at the Express Lane on Highway 231 and 23rd Street. Security photos taken of both incidents indicated the robberies were committed by the same suspect. The BCSO began working with the Panama City Police Department on the investigation.

This afternoon, a Bay County Sheriff’s Office deputy spotted two white males walking along Front Beach Road. The deputy noted one of the men looked similar to the man in the videos of the Armed Robbery and stopped to talk with the men.

After speaking with them, the deputy took both men into custody. BCSO Criminal Investigations responded to speak with the suspects. A search warrant was obtained for their motel room on Panama City Beach and clothing matching the clothing worn by the suspect in the video was found. Zachary Hubbard, age 20, of Gainesville, Georgia, was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery, and Jared Lonnie Moore, age 20, of Oakwood, Georgia, was arrested and charged with Principal/Accessory to Armed Robbery. Investigators believe Moore drove a getaway car for Hubbard at both robberies.

The Panama City Police Department will be charging Hubbard and Moore in connection to the armed robbery that occurred at the Express lane on Highway 231 and 23rd Street.
